I am pleased to announce that I have accepted a one-year visiting position in the Religion Department at Wake Forest University for next year. It’s hard to imagine a better situation for next year, as I will be able to commute to Winston Salem to teach a 3/3 load on a Tuesday/Thursday schedule and write on MWF (and of course the weekend). This also means I’m free to defend the dissertation earlier rather than waiting to retain funding for next year at UNC. In the fall, I’ll be teaching two sections of “Introduction to the Bible” and one section of “Visions of the End: Jewish and Christian Apocalyptic(ism).” Given that subject material, it should be a really fun semester. I’m quite excited about the courses I’ll be teaching and the chance to join a terrific faculty for the year.

Have you made the move yet?!
Not yet. I start in July. Even better, I’ll be able to commute (Tues/Thurs) rather than move, so we can stay where we’ve been living.
I hope you’re doing well—we should really catch up soon.
Awesome!
