It was quite a busy “break” this year. First of all, my car of eight years was totaled as the result of a highway accident the day before Thanksgiving (rear-ended; not my fault); the insurance company stopped paying for the rental car Dec 23, so I didn’t have a car after that (I am presently tooling around in my parents’ van, which they had been planning on leaving in NC for the time being since they’re now both permanently in Boston, until I can find a replacement). Nonetheless, I was able to spend some time in Augusta, GA, Jacksonville, FL, and Atlanta, thanks being able to hitch rides with others. I was able to attend the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville on New Year’s Day—it was great to see Coach Bowden go out with a win.

I also spent quite a bit of time working on the revisions to my article, “What Do the Nations Have to Do with All Israel? A Fresh Look at Rom 11:25–26,” spending about eight hours working on it on Christmas Day alone. After much more work, I was finally sent the article back to JBL today; hopefully the revisions are sufficient to get it into the pipeline quickly.

Now that those revisions are done, I can get back to work on preparation for my preliminary exams, the article I’ll be presenting in March, and (of course) blogging. It’s good to be back, though the 535 items in my neglected feed reader are a bit daunting.
