Wasn’t my best week last week on the picks; I picked three upsets that went to overtime and went the other way (Kentucky/Tennessee, Arkansas/LSU, BYU/Utah). I did get Mississippi St. over Ole Miss, but three ACC upsets surprised me as well: Clemson, Georgia Tech, and North Carolina all played rather poorly.

Florida 27, Alabama 20: I think Alabama is actually a slightly better team overall, but somehow I just think UF will get it done. When picking these games between relatively even teams, I tend to look at the quarterbacks, and UF has the advantage there.

Clemson 34, Georgia Tech 31: This is a game where familiarity helps a great deal, and Clemson has already had to prepare for the Yellow Jackets. Clemson gets the ACC’s BCS bid.

Texas 31, Nebraska 28: Closer than people expect, but I think McCoy is the difference.

Boise St. 45, New Mexico St. 10
USC 28, Arizona 24
Pitt 31, Cincinnati 28
Washington 31, Cal 30
Houston 30, ECU 20
West Virginia 35, Rutgers 31

Last week: 13–7; Season: 131–41 (76.1%)
