Perhaps then I would not have had to suffer through "88 Reasons Why the Rapture could be in 1988" followed by, of course, "Final Shout - Rapture Report of 1989"... and then the same for 1990, 1991, 1992, etc. I appreciate your thoughtful commentary and the real message of this passage should motivate us to look for ways to share the Gospel to those that are in the dark. Oh if only you had first published this in the early 1980′s. If you read in revelations chapter 3 verse 3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. So what this is saying is if we are not of the light and have not received the gift of salvation we will not know the hour but if we are saved then we will know the time and hour. Also in 1 Thessalonians - Chapter 5 1-3 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. For when THEY say PEACE AND SAFETY then SUDDEN DESTRUCTION cometh upon them.
